Your breakfast, lunch, and dinner can also end your life. And you must eat those foods even if you know the danger in front of you.
For a group of women in the Third Reich, their daily life was to taste Hitler's food for two and a half years during World War II.
Young women in Germany were required to taste the food that had been prepared for the leader to determine if Hitler's allies wanted to poison him.
Getting that job was a great honor.
That shocking story about the girls who were responsible for tasting Hitler's food was revealed in 2013, when a 95-year-old woman, known as Margot Wölk, described her former career.
And now there is a play by Hitler's taste buds, produced by Michelle Kholos Brooks highlighting the dangers they were facing in their lives.
Although the game has been the subject of threats to be shown in the United States, the game will now be screened at a major international arts festival that will take place throughout the month.
All the dancers are women and it has looked at girls between the ages of 15 who are in schools that are close to Hitler’s residence.
The author of the play, Brooks heard about the story of the taste buds by chance, a fellow reporter told him that he had heard about the story as well when they were being killed before they left.
He said, "Will I be able to write about it? Because if I don't write about it then I'm going to write" Brooks recalled. This story seemed straightforward to have good content.
This story touched on everything I was thinking about and fearing: the way young women were being exploited, the way children were going to war, how difficult it was for women and politicians to deceive them ... ",
I didn't want that role to be like history, I just wanted to look at the present life "- Michelle Kholos Brooks
The comedy is designed to make one reflect on the history and the way young girls are being exploited.
"I used to watch these girls taking pictures of themselves while posing for beautiful pictures, and thinking that these are the same girls are just the times. There is no difference other than time," said Brooks. and not just history.
The play was described in the Second World War as a more comprehensive description of how vulnerable girls were.
But things about tasting life were strange and something that should not have happened.
Compared to the lifestyle of most people in the war, they were taken for granted but in 1944, many people became very angry with the Germans.
Although the girls were getting all three meals, the food was meat, as it was Hitler's favorite food and the author explained that the whole meal included rice, pasta, and fruit for some time.
"Despite the fact that the food was very good" he added that they were not happy with the food.
The food was vegetarian because Hitler was eating meat rarely, the waiters were preparing food and waiting for an hour to see if the girls would be harmed or not, if they were not injured then the food was sent to Hitler.
"Some of the girls start eating anxiously and with tears in their eyes," said the woman who served as Hitler's foodie when interviewed in 2013. We used to cry like puppies when we recovered after eating that food ".
At each of Hitler's meals, the girls who tasted Hitler's food were relying on two after one hour to die or recover.
So far, no girls have been harmed by Hitler's food poisoning. The stories of their tragedy have not been told much and are even unknown.
Although it appears that Wolk was Hitler's only survivor:
It is alleged that some girls were shot dead by the Russian army.
Hitler's taster also praised the way in which their life story has been told with humor "the production of comedy in such a way is a good way to present" - the woman praised.
and was asked if it was okay for people to laugh at the game or even refuse to watch it.
"Some people said they didn't want to watch the game because they couldn't laugh at the bad stuff - but if you watch the game you never know." We don't like Hitler "but things like that have to be said.
The 'Hitler's Tasters' game is about laughing with these little girls who were innocent.
