Vladimir Putin is believed to be dying in agony from terminal bowel cancer, according to intelligence reports from the Pentagon and Ukraine.
Our sources report that his "swollen face" is a sign that he is taking chemotherapy drugs or steroids.
His expression without a smile shows that he is constantly suffering, according to American sources.
This could have made him more aggressive, hence his recent actions towards Ukraine because he knows he is dying and wants to leave a legacy.
A former military intelligence officer currently working at the Pentagon said analysts had studied Putin, 69, and thought he was seriously ill.
The source said: "In the past we have seen him smile, but in 2022 there are few photos of him looking happy.
"His gaze suggests that he is suffering and our sources suggest that his angry gaze is probably due to the fact that he is in agony.
"Our analysts are convinced that he is sick – he is also concerned about Covid because he is keeping his staff at bay."
Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, February 24.
Since then, it has put Russia's nuclear deterrent on high alert, raising fears that a nuclear war is imminent.
The country's foreign minister also warned that if a third world war were to occur, it would involve nuclear weapons and be destructive.
This comes after former Foreign Secretary and doctor Lord Owen accused the president of using muscle-boosting drugs, after detailing how his face changed.
Lord Owen told Times Radio: "Look at his face, see how it has changed – he now has an oval face.
"People said, oh, it's plastic surgery or Botox, I don't believe it at all."
Previous shots of the head of state show him on horseback shirtless or fishing – and his face looks thinner.
He went on to explain how steroids could change the shape and appearance of the face.
He continued, "He either takes anabolic steroids as a bodybuilder — and he's very proud of his muscles and bands up to the waist and all that sort of stuff — or he takes corticosteroids.
"If you take these drugs, it gives you that face.
"This reduces your immunity and makes you more vulnerable to Covid.
"This man has been in complete isolation, quite extraordinary, will not see anyone, stays miles away, enormous pressures.
"Which indicates he's on steroids and probably, perhaps, a combination of both."
Some experts said they believed Putin's isolation during the Covid pandemic had affected his mental state, prompting him to decide to invade Ukraine and send thousands of troops across the border.
